Mega Man Battle Network 6: Cybeast Falzar is the last installment in the GBA MMBN series. The Battle Network series itself is a really great Action-RPG/Puzzle/Strategy hybrid. Given that they had to establish the genre mix from the ground up, its a pretty decent feat.
The battle system of the game consists of the regular 9 panels vs 9 panels as established in earlier games. The addition to this one is that you can fuse with other NAVIs to make an even stronger one with element affinities or different powered up attacks. It’s similar to Battle Network 5, but these fusions are available in battle from the get go as soon as you unlock them in the story.
The real kicker that separates this game with the earlier Battle Networks is that you can fuse with Cybeast Falzar, a mechanical phoenix. This fusion can also fuse with the other NAVIs, bringing up 12 combinations to fight with.
The version differences with Cybeast Gregar are various text changes and more importantly the fusion NAVIs and Falzar being replaced with Gregar, the mechanical wolf.
The two versions are capable of linking up and trading battle chips and duking out in a battle. Lesser known fact is that you can also link up with Konami’s Boktai 3, but this crossover link up is Japan only sadly.
Overall, the isometric graphics and gameplay is what made this game great. Some may say that the puzzles were tough but it added a more brain over brawn feel to the game. Cybeast Falzar is an excellent game and a recommended play on the Game Boy Advance.
GREETINGS FELLOW WEIRDOS!!!
TIS I...THE “ALMIGHTY” AND “PAAHHHHHHHOOOOOWERRRRFUL” OMEGA360!!!!!!!
And welcome to the audition thread for the Prologue and SF Scenario of the Mega Man Battle Network: Operate Starforce game for the Nintendo DS!
Before I start you may be asking, where have I been all this time? Well...the long and short of it is that I have been getting my bearings for the past four years...and it hasn’t been easy. I ended up struggling with quite a bit of unmotivation, discouragement, and just general laziness. The stuff I did prior, I mostly did myself, and that ended up being a lot of work, and quite stressful. And when something you love doing has all of that tossed into it, it stops being your hobby, and becomes work you don’t want to do anymore.
But, I’ve finally managed to unpack most, if not all of that, and I believe I’m ready to give this stuff another try.
So without further ado, let’s get down to business.
First, I’m not dubbing the whole game. That’s a lot of work, and I’m not ready to do that quite yet. That’s for a different game. I’m only dubbing the Prologue and the Starforce scenario, starting from the Elec Man & Proto Man boss fights. Why just those? Because that’s the entire reason most people wanted an english patch for this game. And yes, I will be doing the gag dialogues as well. I’ve had the idea to dub these scenes for a while now. And I finally have the means to do it.
Second, let’s go ahead and get the requirements out of the way.
You must have a good quality mic. Decent does not equal good. XLR mics are my preferred method, but I won’t say no to USB mics either, as long as they’re in good working condition. Built-in desktop mics will not be acceptable.
Be comfortable with emoting. As this is an action game (and depending on who you’re cast as), there may/will be times when you have to shout, yell, etc. Better make sure you aren’t disturbing anyone when you do.
Keep reverbs and plosives somewhere between minimum and non-existant. If you can, find a way to isolate both yourself and the mic in the most sound proof environment possible. A closet full of clothes is a good idea. If you don’t have anything like a wind screen, then setting your mic off to the side of you will work as a fine substitute, assuming your mic’s pickup pattern is omni-directonal or cardioid.
Communicate. I plan to hold live recordings over Discord for this project, so I need to know what time will work best for the both of us. However, if that is not possible for you, self-recordings will be fine as well, just as long as they meet the deadline. If you cannot have your lines submitted, I need to know in advance. If I do not hear from you for a prolonged period of time, your role will be recast.
As stated above, I will be using Discord to hold the live sessions. If you’re not too familiar with it, download and experiment with it first.
6. As for formats, while .wav files are preferred due to their uncompressed quality, if this is not possible, I will accept .mp3s. You do not however have to worry about this for the auditions. Wavs can sometimes take FOREVER to upload.
7. Have fun! That's basically what the point of this project is, right?
Alright, now that all that drivel is out of the way let’s get down to the characters up for grabs.
First off, just like in my Starforce Dub, I’ll be voicing Geo Stellar/MegaMan SF and Omega-Xis again. I’m well aware that self-casting yourself as the MC is frowned upon in this community, but in my defence, they’re not the MC in this game. Just a supporting cast that happens to be playable. Going forward however, I don’t think I’ll voice Geo if I ever get around to rebooting my Starforce Dub.
I’ll also be voicing Dr. Wily, as I have done him before in other fan mediums of the franchise. The more I can do myself, the less time I have to spend on casting. If I were doing this on a budget, I’d have to operate on the same method.
And finally, I’ll also be voicing StoneMan.EXE, Bass.EXE, and Solo/Rouge. I know that may seem like I’m taking a lot, but for these three, it’s a bit different. Stone Man.EXE appears in one of the gag reels, and all he ever says in the dialogue is “Gok gok,” his own gibberish language that only MegaMan.EXE and Geo seem to understand. Little to no context is given on what he’s actually saying, so not only do I doubt anyone is going to audition for that, it would also be a bit difficult to direct.
As for Bass and Solo/Rogue, I have accessed the cheats that grant the Bass and Rouge Navi chips. They only have short standalone lines, and for Bass, I have a voice in mind for him that not many people seem too keen on experimenting with. Rouge is also summoned by ClockMan.EXE and will more than likely only do battle grunts. So again, not many people will audition for that.

And finally, XenoblazeVA formally known as KingoSamurai347 will be retaining his role as Bud Bison.
