Sep 02, 2018 Makarov, look at the serial number (S/N), normally found on the left side of the frame, above the grip. Model numbers are typically IJ-70-18A. The PA-63 magazine will fit and function in an FEG APK and SMC (note they will stick out. The sole example seen in a store looked to be well made. The importer was 'KBI Inc, Harrisburg, PA.' An export version of the Model P9M, with slide-mounted safety catch, SA only, safety on steel frame, barrel is hard-chromed inside and outside.
The barrel latching in the slide is done via three latching ribs. The pistol is equipped with an external hammer with a safety rest to avoid accidental discharge. The pistol has a magazine latching feature. The pistol with a cocked hammer and a round in the chamber can be safely latched by pushing up the manual safety.
Grips were black bakelite or wood.
